Then I Fell

Clip went the harness as my Mum put it on and off I went.  I was half way up then I fell.  I grabbed on as fast as I could, then I kept going.  It hurt when I put my feet on the metal part.  Then I got sweaty and I began to slip.

The lady said "Miss Tait is going to go down the slide" then I let go.  When I got there, Miss Tait was going up then she dropped, then I went back to the pole and I climbed as fast as I could, then I let go.

To find out what happened after he let go, talk to the author Zahn Boyd.

Plunging to the Ground

Climbing the wall of squares I felt like I would fall off.  I was struggling, then I fell off and plunged to the ground like a dead bird.

To find out if the author survived, talk to Dylan Baron.

I Made It!

Climbing the mighty fire pole, my hands got very sweaty and very slippery.  I tried to get to the top and.....

I MADE IT!

I pressed the red button and dropped down, down, down.

To find out how he got to the top, speak with author Eric Li

Facing the Clip n' Climb Challenge!

A huge congratulations to all of the kids in Room 14 for giving it a go - the nerves were definitely there for Miss Tait, but you kids inspired me to be resilient and try my hardest - I'm proud of all of you for doing the same.

Thanks must go to the parent helpers who tirelessly "checked me", and also to Brooke's Mum for the photos which you can see below.

Step by step

Step by step I climb a big green pole, higher and higher I go.  Wobblier and wobblier it gets.  I say to myself "I'm nearly done."  People are standing down below me saying "put both hands out in the air!" So I put.....

Wheels Day Experiences

"Woohoo!" I happily shouted as I zoomed through the obstacle course on my blue and star covered bike.  The obstacle course had cones you had to squiggle through, a chalk made zebra crossing, a stop sign you had to stop at and a cone you had to ride around.

So first I squiggled left, right, left, right, through the line of cones, then zoomed to the zebra crossing made by chalk.  Then I jumped off my bike and ran across the chalk crossing holding my bike.

When I got across, I jumped back on to my bike, then I zoomed to the stop sign and screeeched in front of the stop sign.

Wheel Orienteering

Puffing we bike to the hall.  "I've found the clue!" Daneka shouted. "It is the letter E!" Johanri shouted while falling over in the bark.

Transformation - Rotation

We have been looking at patterns made with transformation.  This week we have created snakes with rotating patterns, and we are also making symmetrical gardens for them to 'live' in.

Cystic Fibrosis Experimentathon

After a bunch of predictions, changing variables, and noting results we have figured out many ways to make bubbles BIGGER, smaller, more colourful and float for longer (just to name a few experiments).

Thank you so much to all of those who donated money to our research - this is the last week to bring that money in.  So far we have raised $186.00 and we are so proud of that - we will be sending this money to help researchers help those with Cystic Fibrosis (along with a few poems which may be published in their magazine - stay posted).

Putting our earth together.

Can you spot the crust, mantle, outer core and inner core?

What makes the OY sound?

Many of us went above and beyond with our homefun this week.  We were looking at words with the OY / OI sound in them.  What makes the sound better than a TOY?  Here are some we created.

Divide and Conquer

W.A.L.T divide by sharing materials equally.

W.A.S.W we can take a large number and share it out so that everyone has the same amount.
